Peacefule Solutions
Domestic Violence Offender Assessment and Treatment Program
Who is eligible?
The Peaceful Solutions program serves men and women who have used tactics of domination, power and control in their intimate relationships.
Goals of Peaceful Solutions Program:
To ensure victim safety
To create a safe environment for self-discovery and exploration
To foster respectful and non-violent life skills
To educate participants in alternative options for conflict resolution
To increase personal responsibility and compassion for others
To encourage honesty and accountability
How does it work?
Potential participants call to set up a formal assessment. This process takes approximately two hours. Peaceful Solutions staff is trained by the Kansas Attorney General’s Office to perform a Domestic Violence Offender Assessment as required for many court systems. Information will be gathered from the alleged perpetrator. Alleged victims will be encouraged but not required to provide information for the assessment.
For those appropriate for the program, an orientation session will be scheduled. This is will provide each participant with needed information on the specific program material and expectations while attending group sessions. Group sessions will be held with a structured curriculum. Participants will be expected to complete a minimum of 24 sessions. When participants are involved with other agencies and authorities, communication regarding attendance, progress and completion will be ongoing.
